Westray and Papa Westray
September 2010

These iconic islands in the Orkneys are home to some 900 people and a wealth of wildlife including Seals, Puffins, Gannets and Guillemots, turquoise seas, golden sandy beaches and clear fresh air.
We were approached by the tourist association because of our work for Hebridean Island Cruises to produce a leaflet promoting the Islands.
The first visual has been very well received and delivery will be October.

Our online brochure software system www.online-brochures.net goes from strength to strength.
PGL the UKs leading provider of school trips and children's adventure holidays and Kaplan International college, provider of academic preparation programmes have both bought annual licenses to use our software to showcase their brochures online.

Fame at last, our long standing client Metroplan have just been approached by Channel 5 to feature their Screenworld products on The Gadget Show. They found the site through our efforts with SEO. We look forward to Suzi in her cat suit showing off their products. The show airs on Monday 13th September.

Another brochure for Hebridean Island Cruises

Another year, another flagship cruise brochure. Our relationship with Hebridean Island Cruises goes from strength to strength with the successful design and production of their main 2011 sales literature. As usual we worked closely with the Hebridean Cruises team and did everything from initial design, copywriting and typesetting through to overseeing the extensive print run. We even took the front cover photo! And all on time and on budget.


Immersed in the Lakes

Our experience in tourism marketing combined with our Cumbrian location means that we have an expertise for selling destinations - especially the Lake District. So it was little wonder that when Cumbria Tourism teamed up with Lakeland, the home of creative kitchenware, to produce a guide to ‘Exclusive Places To Stay’ they came to us. The guide we designed had a print run of 50,000 and is available in Lakeland’s network of prestigious kitchenware stores.


SAILS ARE UP!

It's easy to be cynical about the effects of print marketing these days. But when clients tell you just how much their sales have increased as a direct result of what we've done it's always gratifying. Take our latest mailshot for Hebridean Island Cruises. Two thousand personalised printed copies were sent out and subsequently 11 extra cruise holidays were sold as a direct and accredited result. That's more than £70,000 in additional revenue. Not a bad ROI.


Another dimension to what we do

Question: when you’re looking for an interactive 3D illustration of a school building to go on your website to help sell your products, who are you going to call? Answer: if you’re Metroplan then you call Mullin Design! And so they did. Work is now well underway to produce the complex illustration and we will show it here very soon. Visitors to the Metroplan website will be able to manipulate the image in a variety of ways and click on different areas of the ‘school building’ to see just what products the company offer for that particular area of school life.


B&B goes SEO!

It’s amazing how far word of our abilities travels. Even a B&B in Cornwall has heard about our online marketing skills and has asked us to redesign their website as well as ensure that it’s fully Search Engine Optimised. Copper Meadow at Trevadlock Farm in Launceston, Cornwall, saw what we had done for Farmstay UK and approached us to improve both the look and the number of visitors to its website. No problem. So, pass the clotted cream, and watch this space for the results!


Getting stuck into something tasty

When the organisers of Fork Fest, an exciting new signature event in the chic Cumbrian destination of Kirkby Lonsdale, needed a visual identity and supporting literature they approached Mullin Design. They had obviously heard that we liked our food! We checked how much we’d already got on our plate and decided that we could definitely make room for something sweet. So, as we speak, we’re tucking into this with relish. Watch this space for the finished logo that will represent this fun-filled food, arts and gardening event.


A capital idea

Alice Mullin (yes, definitely a relation), who’s studying Graphic Design at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle has just designed and produced this beautiful little book as part of her course. And as a proud father I just had to show it off! The pocket-sized project amusingly illustrates a 3-day trip to London. It’s a quirky blend of photography, illustration and typography and has been produced with the generous help of Absolute Digital Print and Classic Finish.

Our long-standing client Metroplan recently gave us a challenge. The leading UK supplier of presentation and display materials needed a brand new e-commerce website that specifically marketed their immense range of projector screens. Well, we’d never let them down in the past, and we weren’t about to disappoint them. So....introducing the brand new Screenworld site.

The most interesting aspect of this site is the easy and convenient ways in which prospective online customers can search for and find the perfect product to match their requirements. They can either search by type or by usage. Needless to say, our friends at Metroplan were more than pleased with yet another successful job by Mullin Design.
